So as you read on the home page, I decided to start this blog to share the outdoors from my perspective with the world. I guess I can start out by introducing myself. My name is Nathan, I’m 34 years old, I currently live in Maryland and I love the outdoors. This infatuation with being outside goes back to my time as a little kid in the mountains of Virginia. I grew up in a small town in Alleghany county. When I wasn’t staring out the windows of my school classroom, I was in the woods hunting and exploring or on the creek bank fishing. Nature is where I felt most at home and I would run to it every chance I had.
I turned 18 an moved away from that small town tucked into the Appalachian mountains on a journey to become who I am today. I joined the Marine Corps right out of high school in 2005 and went to Parris Island, SC. From there I lived and trained in various places but ultimately ended up back in South Carolina. This is where I met my wife and the next chapter of my life began. During my time in South Carolina I found some time to hunt and fish in between being deployed, having kids of my own and transitioning from the military. South Carolina was the first time I had hunting flat land and it was quite the change from the mountains of Virginia. In 2010 I left the Marine Corps and South Carolina behind and now live in Maryland.
I started creating hunting and fishing videos a few years ago but never got serious about making it more than just a way to keep track of my adventures but I quickly realized that I enjoy filming, photography, and the outdoors enough to want to share my experiences with the rest of the world. So here we are, setting up social media accounts, blogs, and YouTube channels in hopes of inspiring someone else to take a step out of their front door and experience what this world has to offer. I hope to grow this over the next year or so into something that I could make a living off of and get back into the wilderness full time. With the help of subscribers this can be possible so please take a moment and subscribe to this blog as well as my social media accounts. They are linked at the bottom of my home page. Thanks for reading and I am excited to see where this goes.
